Taylor’s Community carried out the first-ever program called IT Literacy this year in collaboration with Taylor’s Agents of Tech Club on 11th March 2023, last Saturday for our children’s beneficiaries from B40 and the refugee community. A total number of 60 participants, of which 34 participants came from the B40 community and the other 26 came from the refugee schools, GHALC and UWA participated in this program.
The program was taught by two technical leads from Agents of Tech in two separate classes; one class was held in Bahasa Malaysia which is led by Victor for the B40 community while the other class was conducted in English by Faysal Hossain for the refugee community.
The participants were exposed to basic computer functions like searching, creating, and renaming folders, using notes and calculators, and others. 92% of the participants agreed that their understanding of basic computers has increased after attending this program.
Other than that, they also got the opportunity to learn basic computer applications such as Microsoft, Google, and Canva design. 92% of the participants said that they are more confident in using this platform after learning about it. At the end of the module, a mini Canva design competition was held to evaluate their understanding and creativity of what they learned that day. 90% of the students found that the Canva designing session was helpful and fun.
The program ended with a prize-giving ceremony for the Canva designing competition where all the winners were selected by Agents of Tech themselves. All the winners received AEON vouchers for their full participation and commitment to learning in today’s program. We would like to say us thank you to Agents of Tech for their amazing efforts in making the program a successful one! We are looking forward to having more programs with you in the future!
