Reduce Crime Together
Today, 20th April 2023, we hosted the fourth program of Reduce Crime Together (RCT) with our partner, AseZ, at MON Refugee School. A total of 20 participants took part in this program in which they were exposed to the ‘Practicing Positive Communication’ topic. In today’s class, they were taught how to improve relationships with others by learning how to sincerely apologize to someone, how to show gratitude, and how to give compliments to others. The students were asked to write down letters of apologies, thanks, and praise for their peers to show their sincere appreciation. As usual, the programs ended with a Korean class where the participants gain exposure to the basic Korean language.
We are pleased that participants enjoyed the activities and content of today’s program. Thank you to MON students and teachers for your full participation and commitment. Other thanks to AseZ and your hardworking for running this program successfully!

Program Kertas Krafting
This upcoming Saturday on the 15th of April 2023, Taylor’s Community is having an upcycling workshop in collaboration with Taylor’s students from Taylor’s Nature Club (TNC). The program is named Kertas Krafting and is going to be conducted at one of the refugee schools, Warrior Bride Learning Centre. The aim of this program is to nurture young minds on sustainability which will help the participants to have an awareness of protecting the environment. The participants will be able to learn about the importance of upcycling and repurposing waste. In this program, the participants will learn how to make their own paper by using recycled paper. Additionally, they will be given an opportunity to unleash their creativity through making canvas textured paintings and could stand a chance to win fun prizes! Do stay tuned for more updates from this program!

IT Literacy
Taylor’s Community carried out the first-ever program called IT Literacy this year in collaboration with Taylor’s Agents of Tech Club on 11th March 2023, last Saturday for our children’s beneficiaries from B40 and the refugee community. A total number of 60 participants, of which 34 participants came from the B40 community and the other 26 came from the refugee schools, GHALC and UWA participated in this program.
The program was taught by two technical leads from Agents of Tech in two separate classes; one class was held in Bahasa Malaysia which is led by Victor for the B40 community while the other class was conducted in English by Faysal Hossain for the refugee community.
The participants were exposed to basic computer functions like searching, creating, and renaming folders, using notes and calculators, and others. 92% of the participants agreed that their understanding of basic computers has increased after attending this program.
Other than that, they also got the opportunity to learn basic computer applications such as Microsoft, Google, and Canva design. 92% of the participants said that they are more confident in using this platform after learning about it. At the end of the module, a mini Canva design competition was held to evaluate their understanding and creativity of what they learned that day. 90% of the students found that the Canva designing session was helpful and fun.
The program ended with a prize-giving ceremony for the Canva designing competition where all the winners were selected by Agents of Tech themselves. All the winners received AEON vouchers for their full participation and commitment to learning in today’s program. We would like to say us thank you to Agents of Tech for their amazing efforts in making the program a successful one! We are looking forward to having more programs with you in the future!
