CSR Corner

An initiative created to help and provide a platform for our beneficiaries and partners to showcase their product and expose their business to a wider demographic and community. Hence, this project is done for 5 weeks where 5 vendors were at the booth from 25th October 2022 to 2nd December 2022.

In week 1, we had Kak Hana (Sarinah binti Laangku) at the booth where she sells her art & craft product. She was able to engage with the people at Taylor’s Lakeside and even befriend with one of the students that visited her booth. She is what we called an ‘Empowerment to female entrepreneurs’ where she shows that despite the hardship she must go through, she can still fight through it and do what she is passionate about.
In week 2, we had Kak Syuhada (Nurul Syuhada binti Roslan) at the booth where she showcases her skills in dessert making and baking. She started the business as a passion venture which in turn lead to her forming a business called Sugarbliss. Her products were well-received and in fact giving her the highest sales she ever gotten in a day. From this venture at CSR Corner, she is now looking into opening a physical store and consequently expand her business. Do look forward to it.
In week 3, we had Kak Zetty (Nurulziaty Huda binti Ahmad Bahiki) at the booth where she showcases her expertise in baking. She started her entrepreneur journey by starting with serving lunch meals which later changed to breakfast meal. However, after seeing an opportunity to certified herself in pastry, she took that opportunity and now is a certified pastry chef where she bakes some delicious cakes and have it customized based o customer’s request. Her story represents the test and trial story of entrepreneurs in order to find the passion and niche in herself and market.
In week 4, we had Beautiful Gate (Helen, Felix, Grace, Damian, and Hanna) at the booth. Beautiful Gate is a foundation that was created to support the People with Disability. Their goal is to provide as much comfort and reach out to as many PWD community to support. The coffee and art & craft business is an initiative created to provide a platform for them to experience and upskill their ability. This is so that they can assimilate themselves with the norm of working world or maybe inspire them to do something.
In week 5, we had MON (Nai Wonna, Tun Tun and Layih) at the booth. MON (Mon Refugee Learning Center) is a center form to provide education to the children of the Myanmar family that resides in Malaysia. The business initiative started as one of the ways to keep the children occupied with art & craft while at same time provide a space for the children to inspire themselves artistically. Few of the many products on the market are handmade notebook, designed papers and greeting cards.

As the journey of ended, the total sales that all 5 vendors were able to earn was RM6,585. This project won’t happened if its not for our partner, Syopz Mall, for giving us the space and a ‘thank you’ to the vendors for trusting us and come over to our booth.
